Bologna 2025: A big recognition for Combel’s illustrators
The winner illustrators for the Bologna Illustrators Exhibition 2025 have been announced. Among the more than 4,000 illustrators who applied from 89 countries and regions, we are thrilled to find several collaborators from Combel.
Mariana Ruiz Johnson: Following the success of Nicolasa, Where is Your Home? (over 20,000 copies sold), and her nomination last year, Mariana returns with A Quirky Wardrobe. From the Marsupiflaps collection, created in collaboration with Mar Benegas. This delightful lift-the-flap book takes young readers on a colorful journey through the wardrobe of a fashion-loving protagonist.
Naida Mazzenga: Naida continues to impress! After winning the 2024 Junceda Award Children’s Book Fiction with her stunning work on Bad Name – a captivating lift-the-flap book written by the acclaimed author Bel Olid, she has made it again!
Negrescolor: We are delighted to see a collaborator from our collection Horse, designed to accompany children aged 3-6 years old as they begin their reading journey. On this occasion, with the illustration of a true classic: The Milkmaid and Her Pail.Ana G. Lartitegui: Ana is one of the creators of one of Combel’s most special books – a flip book-object filled with poetic madness to create thousands of fabulous Kitchen Monsters!Anna Font: She is currently working on a new book by Mar Benegas. Mercè Galí: Last but not least, a shortlisted author, who illustrated one of Combel international hits All I Know About the Poop (translated into 8 languages) also deserves a mention. Her latest work, Disconcerting Stories by Oriol Garcia Molsosa, is a picture book aimed at young readers, featuring five stories based on well-known anecdotes about famous composers.This showcases the exceptional talent within the Combel network.
